For all the obvious reasons, airlines (including Delta) do a great job showing you all the great things you can do in all the great places they fly you to. But like the best of Delta work, this one looked at travel through a different lens. The 50% of flights airlines rarely (if ever) talk about: the flights home.

Late night last Sunday I was heading home, leaving behind the White Horse Tavern and an unclosed open tab. How many whiskeys must a man drink down, before you call him a cab? Eighty-sixed with no answer, like a pawn more in the bartender's game, I staggered into the first subway station I found, positively 4th street.

I was hitchhiking from train to train, trying to remember the commute home. Repeatedly playing in my mind, that night's giddiness' official soundtrack: this Irish folk song I had learned in Greenwich Village.

Then, the train stopped in Union Sq., you got on and my binge got off, just like a naïve hipster transferring to the L train. You were dressing as if your Sunday had begun with the usual brunch; those yellow polka dots matched the colors of the subway line and your dark boots of Spanish leather matched the color of my night.

There I was, tangled up in your blue eyes. Wishing that the Q train would become Local, just for that day. Just so I could have more time to figure out what to tell you. We shared an empty and slow train for six stops, but I couldn't say a word. You got off on Lexington Av.

I tried to forget you, but today was Sunday again and the whole week you've been on my mind.

Really hope this finds you well. I never used Craigslist's Missed Connections before but believe me, I can't forget that smile of yours - one post a day's worth. I just wanted to let you know that I exist and I'll be every morning at The Fat Black Pussy cat. Drinking coffee and writing.

And waiting for you.

We tend to assume that tech is equitable by default, but it’s not. Historically, cameras have been optimized for white skin, overlooking darker skin tones. Today’s digital and phone cameras carry that same bias. If you want to know more check this out. Google is committed to changing that with their Real Tone, a new technology focused on accurately representing the nuances of all skin tones.

To launch their new phone, the Google team asked us to develop an anthem under their campaign For All You Are. This phone adapts to all your nuances: from the way you speak, to your skin tone, to your schedules, quirks and passions – the things that make you who you are will be the things that make this phone what it it.

For the 2020 Grammy Awards, McDonald’s wanted to remind the Quarter Pounder fans why they are Quarter Pounder fans.
This first W+K work for McDonald’s: laconic, quiet and the opposite of the overstimulating Lurpaky foodporn every brand is doing.
And we sold through the idea of Brian Cox as the VO. He since became the voice of the brand. I think Brady Langmann from Esquire got what we were going for: “In the minutes since I heard the Brian Cox ASMR [in] a Mickey D’s commercial, I’ve found a new lease on life. Life can give me the occasional gift.”
Oh, superstart Creative Director Eric Baldwin had a f** awesome different take.

Famous Ordersfor McDonald’s

No matter how big or famous you are, everyone has a unique go-to McDonald’s order – a simple truth that only a brand this emblematic can claim.
At some point of the 9-month-long pitch, we presented to the brand team the idea of turning the real orders of celebrities into actual combos that people can go get at McDonald's. Fast-forward, W+K wins the business and "Famous Orders" becomes McDonald’s most profitable global platform ever – with multiple successful iterations happening in the US, like the Travis Scott meal; globally, like the BTS meal; and also being executed regionally market by market too. This is the Super Bowl spot that kicked it off. We were busy producing another spot inside Post Malone’s brain, so Sean Johnson and Lauren Acampora took over the whole production. Thank god, because the result is iconic.

Wait there’s more! McDonald’s is named Marketer of the year 2020 by AdAge. And like every Marketer of the year should do, McDonald’s gave away free fries and burgers to everyone for Festivus... I mean, Christmas.

Super Bowl - Inside Post Malone’s Brainfor Bud Light Seltzer

What do you do when you are America’s #1 beer and youngsters no longer drink beer and drink hard seltzer instead? You set yourself to be America’s #1 hard seltzer with a Super Bowl campaign featuring America’s #1 beer drinker Post Malone. And you stop saying “youngsters”.

Agency: Wieden + KennedyCreative Directors: Brandon Henderson & John ParkerCopywriter/Art Director: Garrick Sheldon & Marc DuranAgency Producers: Jessica GriffethDirector: Jim Jenkins
The original plan was for Post Malone to lose control of his arm mid-Grammys, but this teaser made the trick too:

So Post Malone decided his face needed one more face-tattoo. The problem: he got it while we were shooting the campaign. We know the fans were going to notice, so we improvised this:

AICP National Campaign 2020▲

The Webby Awards - Advertising, Media & PR Video Ad Shortform 2020The Webby Awards - Video Comedy (Branded) 2020

The best accolade tho was seeing the Internet do its magic.

The Sound of Our Commutefor DAYAN

New York City Subway lines match the musical notes. If we translate our daily commutes into sounds, suddenly every New Yorker makes music everyday. To raise awareness on the situation immigrants are living with this new administration, NY-based band DAYAN wrote a song with the help of all New Yorkers.

We traced a commute that connected the most trafficked train stations of each borough, G - A - F - E - B - D - A. That became the melody of "Crecer Lejos” (To Grow Afar), a song that explores the emotions one goes through after leaving homeland to pursue betterment.

We made a music video that worked as a short-documentary to explained the idea and call people to download the song. ALL proceeds went to non-profit United We Dream, to keep fighting for justice and dignity for immigrants and all people.

Check the website and podcast, with the testimonies of anonymous immigrant New Yorkers.
