NYC4love Project
for myself and NYC

New Yorkers use Craigslist to buy or sell stuff and meet people. Some of them use it to look for people they saw or met yet didn't exchange contact info. They post on Craigslist’s Missed Connections hoping that the person they are writing about will read it and reply – however many of them go unnoticed and expire after a few days.

On St. Valentine’s, we gave 14 of these posts a better chance to succeed. We printed and placed them in locations specific to their message: bars, trains, subway stations, cafes... in the name of LOVE.

We don’t know if somebody did actually find love because of the project, but hopefully we made this cold St. Valentine a little bit warmer to those brave New Yorkers that walked the streets and saw the posts. Indeed, all of us, Brian Novoa, Heather Han, Laura Dayan and I, felt really welcomed and did find love in every place we went to hang the posts.
